NBA Daily Wrap: Timberwolves rip Nets in OT
Wednesday was a bumper night in the NBA with 22 teams taking to the floor for 11 thrilling matchups.
One of the most exciting games of the night was the tightly contested clash between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Brooklyn Nets which went all the way to overtime.
Not even a 50-point performance from Kyrie Irving could stop the determined Timberwolves from beating the the Nets on their home court in downtown Brooklyn.
Karl-Anthony Towns has a 36-point, 14-rebound double-double, Andrew Wiggins had 21 points and eight rebounds, Robert Covington had 15 points and nine rebounds, while Jeff Teague finished with 14 points, three rebounds and four assists.
Irving had a great regular season debut for Brooklyn with 50 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, Caris LeVert had 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals, Taurean Prince had a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double, Joe Harris had 14 points and four rebounds, and Spencer Dinwiddie ended the game with 14 points and three rebounds.
In other games on the night, the Charlotte Hornets beat the Chicago Bulls 126-125, the Detroit Pistons defeated the Indiana Pacers 119-110, the Orlando Magic beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 94-85, the Miami Heat gave the Memphis Grizzlies a 120-101 thumping, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Boston Celtics 107-93, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Washington Wizards 108-100, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the New York Knicks 120-111, the Utah Jazz beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-95, the Phoenix Suns gave the Sacramento Kings a 124-95 hiding, and the Denver Nuggets beat the Portland Trail Blazers 108-100.
