WNBA Wrap: Jones and Thomas lead Sun past Fever
Jonquel Jones scored 25 points and Jasmine Thomas put up 16 points to help the Connecticut Sun defeat the Indiana Fever 88-77.
Jones scored 14 points in the first half to help the Sun have a 40-37 lead at the break. Connecticut then opened the third quarter with a 19-9 run to take a double-digit advantage and led 62-52 at the end of the third quarter.
Courtney Williams also put up double digits for the Sun with 13 points to go with her six rebounds and four assists.
Alyssa Thomas grabbed 10 rebounds for Connecticut, which has now won nine straight home games.
Erica Wheeler had 26 points and nine assists while Candice Dupree scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished five assists for Indiana.
Nigerian-Canadian ceter Natalie Achonwa added 10 points to Indiana’s tally, which hasn't won back-to-back games to start a season since 2012.
Tonight’s WNBA matchup will see the champions Seattle Storm travelling Minnesota to face the new-look Lynx.
